At Fort Myers Beach this morning. Cloudy and cold.

ISO 100, f16, 1/50 sec, RAW
converted to b+w in PS, yellow filter
dodging, slight crop left and top for comp

I'm ambivalent about this photo, so I'm looking for feedback.

Great capture. The rays of light are excellent and I like the deserted beach feel. The gull provides an amusing element and the pier provides a nice anchor on the horizon. The sky is pretty dark, particularly on the right. While it adds to the mood of the scene, I'd like to see what it looks like a bit lighter.

The rays of light and the reflections in the sand are fantastic. It's a great scene, and the way the bird is "posed" adds a tension to the scene that leaves me feeling a little uncomfortable. Over all a very well composed picture with great lighting.

Great capture, I've still got a pic of that pier that i shot over 40 years ago at sunset with a red sky and blazing sun going down. The b&w gives the whole scene great drama.
