Impatient Winter

I'm kind of back and forth on this. I wonder if the foreground trees are too distracting. I put them in there to add depth, but I wonder if it would work better without them. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Nice Ron, love the mix of colors and the snow really makes this scene special. Kind of wish the fg trees weren't present, but not a deal breaker. Did you get one without them?
Still a nice nice capture.

Ron, I like the combination of fall and winter! Snow is not the easiest thing to process but it looks great to me. Nice reflection too!

Very nice, Ron. The foreground trees don't really bother me. They add a little depth to the scene.

Great color and contrast with the snow. Foreground trees work for me. Nice transitional image.

Look almost like a paint, those yellows are formidable

I'm not sure about the foreground aspens, but the background of this image is beautiful.

Ron,

Love the background with a dusting of snow. The foreground I also like. Personally I prefer the image without the conifers on the left side.

Kevin, unfortunately I didn't. But I'll return next time to explore that possibility.

All the elements are here for a quality image, but that could also be the problem. I am having trouble getting focused with all the information and just wandering around the image grasping on different aspects but not the image as a whole.

Very cool scene, i love yellow-white combos like this. I like the idea of the fg trees, just wish there were a bit more of them.

i love the colours and palette here. i think the comparison with a telephoto lens of the other side of the hill (without the FG trees) would have been informative - and interesting!
