Red-winged Blackbird
by Mia McPherson
Agelius phoeniceus
It seemed like this red-winged blackbird had some thing to say as it perched on a sea oat stalk with a tidal lagoon in the background.
I apologize if switching to my real name causes any one confusion, you can call me Mia or Lia I'll answer to both, but Mia is my name. This post isn't about my name however, it is about this image.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments & critiques, I have grown as a photographer because of them.

The bird definitely had something to say, and it's probably good that you didn't understand what was being said. Wonderful colors in the BG and great exposure for blacks, red, and yellow of the bird. I like the entire composition a lot, but also like Nate's suggestion to add a little to the right, if possible, to include the entire drooping segment of the perch. Did I forget to say, great eye contact?
