The Gorge du Doubs forms part of the Franco-Swiss border and this image was made on the Swiss side, looking to France. The title refers to the hard-to-reach nature of this part of the gorge as well as the outcrop of limestone partially hidden by trees and wreathed in light mist.

I like the color in this Julian and the serenity conveyed in the scene. Beautiful image.

Beautiful and peaceful Julian. I can hear the silence. That rock really pulls it all together too.

I like the scene. The reflection in the water with the floating leaves is particularly nice.

I thought perhaps the title referred to the dark area that looks like a hole at the base of the cliff. That is what drew my attention immediately.
