Pico Wilderness

Today i wake up in my island (São Jorge - Azores) and look to my window and saw Pico island with is mountain (Pico mountain that is the highest point of Portugal Continental) with a lot of snow. The first snow of this autumn in Portugal i think. I was so happy with the snow and so sad by the weather that is horrible for photography. The weather forecast is horrible too for the next days. For that reason i will stay in my island waiting for better weather conditions and praying for more snow in Pico mountain

This shot is taken in March 2009 at sunset with a few snow in Pico mountain - Pico island - Azores.

Pretty sweet comp here Rui, the cloud does make the right side a bit heavy. Still works though. I like the dying tree fighting for its life.

I think bad weather is great for photography, Rui... I'm not crazy about sunny days.

I like the lighting and how the mountain is framed in by all the other elements.

This is excellent and I think captures "your island" beautifully. The light is just right as are the colors, contrast and saturation. This also tells a great nature story of the island and I am really enjoying this. I'm quite surprised there haven't been more comments! C'mon folks!

Great composition! I like how the clouds on the right kinda balance out the left-leaning tree. The detail is great too. Great shot!
