Dawn Bridge I

I've been experimenting with a low light, long exposure, high contrast technique that is finally starting to turn out some satisfactory results. This shot of the Robert Moses Causeway Bridge was taken this past weekend just before dawn as a northeaster was finally blowing itself out.

Canon 5D, 24-105mm @ 70mm, f/18, 3 sec, iso 100, polarizer, 4 stop ND filter, gitzo tripod, remote shutter release.

I immediately recognized this as RM which is one indication that you did a good job. The fact that it's a jaw droppingly beautiful photo done in a manner which is rather unique is another indication. Really really well done.

Very eerie mood...quite spooky really. A fabulous effect and a great result. I like the orton-style blur, and the soft red toning in the image. I feel a bit curious as to what's under the bridge where it's so dark!
