OK...now I'm digging deep into the archives. Before digital...1999, This is one of my favorite images from Cadilac Mtn in Acadia NP, Maine. Shot probably on Velvia, although I cannot say for sure. C and C's are welcome.

Thanks Joe. I only wish I could see these days again. It's been a long time. After this year, I begin to wonder....

Mitch,

This really sizzles, I love the curving line of grasses and the rich colors. I can see why it's one of your favorites!

Wow - those grasses mixed with the red foliage and rocks is fantastic. Nice work.

Beautiful, Mitch. Love everything about it. This really shows off the character of the mountains in Maine, where I spent a lot of my childhood.

Awesome Mitch,
I just love autumn grasses like this. Wonderful colors and textures. The fog adds some mystery and the fg keeps your interest very well. Nice capture

Oh, you have found my weak spot with this one. The progression from the clear FG details to the trees and rocks disappearing into the mist is just magical. Thanks for digging in the archives!

You've captured the "essence" of Cadillac Mountain in this shot, Mitch. Great comp and the mist has really saturated those colors. Well done. :toast: :toast:

Love those grasses! Rich, vibrant colours that are nevertheless perfectly the hues of saturated vegetation...this effect is so hard to do well with digital. The temptation of 'more is better' when it comes to colour is so strong. Also, the moody fade-away into the mist is fantastic.

An old classic so to speak - and I understand perfectly why this is a favorite. Great composition and mood.

Great photo Mitch, one which anyone would be pleased to have in their portfolio. At first glance I said I've seen this photo before. There is a highly regarded photographer from Mass. who shows at the best new England shows and has a very similar composition with the exact same rocks in the foreground. I think he still hangs it large in his booth, so it must sell well for him. I'm posting the url for his version in case you want to look. www.rwilsonphoto.com/wilsongalleries/newengland/newengland.html

This is a beauty, Mitch. I love the progression of the elements in this scene from the lichen covered FG granite and grasses to the evergreens receding into the fog. Glad you dug into the archives.

Great atmosphere and composition. I love the way the grass almost glows. I really can't think of anything that could improve this one.

Great shot Mitch. Checked out R. Wilson's image of the same area, and IMHO you blow him away with your comp. I love the F/G detail in the rocks, and the red on gold is simply beautiful. :toast:
