I found this unusual stream coming off Green Pond Mountain, Harriman, NY. Crystal clear water, common in Harriman, with an unfamiliar water plant growing in it. The leaves bore a very strong resemblance to willow and were obviously fading with the arrival of Fall. The many surrounding maples were dropping their brightly colored leaves into the stream, to drift away...

Thanks in advance for any comments!

Really nice shot Jim. Great comp. I like the contrasting colors and the juxposition of the maple leaf on the linear BG.

Jim,
I like the way this lets us feel the flow of the stream. Like Philip's shot, this is another effective use of a contrasting background to highlight the autumn leaves. In this case, the lighting is also very effective in highlighting the leaf. I'm not much of a botanist, but the aquatic plant reminds me of some of the species of Potamogeton, a large and important genus in the aquatic environment.

I like the comp in this one. The lines from the leaves have a nice flow and the red one is a perfect accent.

The vibrant red leaf is a great contrast to the decaying aquatic plant. Great comp and catch!

The beautiful lines of the darker leaves forms a perfect setting for the brilliant red leaf.

Nice eye Jim - and well presented. As I scroll down, I can also see this in a semi-pano centering the red leaf in the frame.

A most excellent image Jim. The simple one red leaf among all of the others really makes this. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Jim, Very graphical. Like the strong implied diagonals and the placement of the maple leaf in the frame.
