Persistent fog Sunday morning led me to try a few macro subjects in the even light. This seed head appealed to me. Some of the simplest things in nature continue to surprise me with their beauty.

20D, 100mm f2.8 macro, tripod, f11, 1/125 sec, iso 400, Av mode with -1/3 compensation, cropped from the horizontal.

I'd be interested in your opinions on this one.

I love the little beads of water, and you made good use of the light. I know that macro is VERY difficult because of narrow DOF. I wonder if focus stacking software would have really made an image like this one look spectacular? Might depend on how much wind you had. I would think that with fog there wouldn't have been much though.

I agree, the simplest subjects can produce surprising results..as seen here.
Great point of focus & use of F/11, this really stands out in the frame.
