Well I had a great NAD day. I took my beautiful fiance out to my favorite shooting spots. We hiked around with our dog and was very enjoyable. Nice to take a break from the 7 to whenever work week.

We explored one of my favorite spots and had a blast looking for comps. I told Suzanne to pick out some comps I could shoot as well. She liked this shot and actually tripped the shutter for me. The light was perfect for the dry earth and some nearby branches added to the scene I think. It was fun sharing an appreciation for the details in nature. Thats what photography is all about right.

"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
An eternity in an hour." William Blake

Very nice comp Anthony, great detail in the cracked mud but I also like the reaching "fingers" of the dead branches. Glad you enjoyed the day.

The combination is very nice, as is the near monochrome color. This photo reminds me of an old joke we used to tell down on the farm. The joke was that it was so dry one summer we had to tie 2x4s (lumber) across the backs of our hound dogs to keep them from falling into the cracks in the ground.

Incredible detail and depth to the image. I'm not quite sold on the positioning of the branches but that is just my personal taste. An outstanding photograph! :toast:

I might have preferred the branches coming into the frame somewhat at a diagonal, but I love the earth tones and texture of this shot. Sounds like you had a wonderful day out!
