I'd been planning on this day for the past month. I had organized a small group of fellow photographers to meet in Tandy Hills Park in Fort Worth, Texas. Well we woke up to heavy rains here in Cowtown with a forecast of rain all day. Never one to let a little liquid sunshine stop me I made it out to the park. Only one of the several other planned folks made it out and we went out in the dark into the rain. We tried some night images but conditions were less than ideal. After it got light we trudged through the the mud and water and made images in the hills and along the streams. Here is one that stood out for me.

The trail like photography is always a path out in front of me and I will happily follow. I may not know where it leads but I do enjoy the journey.

Darren, thanks for kicking off the gallery! I like the way the trail winds through the frame - and a fitting analogy to nature photography!

Glad you made it out to enjoy and a nice winding path to start us all down the path of fine images.
Great Darren

A fitting analogy Darren. I hope one day our "paths" will cross on this photographic journey. Thanks for being the impetus behind NPN's Nature Photography Appreciation Day.

I really like the placement of the trail in the frame - very inviting.

You are certainly a die-hard - kudos to you for making it out yesterday despite the bad conditions and enjoying nature.

Thanks all. It was a bad condition day and it was not really a great setting for a great image. It was raining when I took this. But I was just glad to get out and take part.

Sounds like you made the best of it Darren, you never know what lies ahead.
It's the journey itself that matters most.
Great comp with the trail leading up and through to the ULC, well done! :wavey:
