Dancing Stilt

From last weekend in Bayou Sauvage. These Black necked stilts seem to be populating the area recently. This one was moving around so fast that it was difficult for me to frame anything decent. Cropped to horizontal and added canvas on tightly framed original.

That's a great reflection, Bill. The smooth water and the reflection make this image for me.

Great image! Like the reflection and how still the water is. Like the water coming off the bill as well.

You have done a great job with this little one moving around so fast! The reflection makes the photo! :toast:

Bill,

I like the glassy, smooth water, the ripples the bird has created moving through it, the splashing water droplets and the lovely reflection. I also enjoy the active hunting pose of the BNST and how you handled the exposure.

A fine image as posted and very appealing to me.

That reflection is great, Bill! We can even study the bird using it. Lovely image. :toast:

Sweet image, Bill. The droplets and blurred feet convey a feel of activity very well. Great reflection and nice exposure on the whites and blacks. I'd add a little more room on the top.

Appreciate all the comments, gang! Although I took some liberal "artistic license" on the original botched framing, I thought the stance of the bird was worth monkeying with the original.

You certainly did this "botched" image justice. I think it's lovely. Sharon

Very nice image.Nice reflection.

IMO this needs some off the bottom, so the reflection and the bird, has the same space top and bottom,
