Loon Halo

One more image (as in my previous two posts) with the theme of water drops being an important element in the photo. This was shot as a “loonscape” at dawn in dim light. The full frame included more background with the warm Sunrise reflections, but I cropped 50% to concentrate on the ring of water drops flying from the loon's head.

Question: There is kind of a strange-looking reflection from the bird's eye. I don't normally alter things like that unless I caused it with flash or something, but I am thinking of working on this one. Would you change it?

Wayne, great action shot!
Yes, I'd personally fix the eye, as the sunlight caught it just 'wrong" and it's distracting.

The eye looks ok to me because the same light is picked up in the corner water. Hard to be sure without seeing it larger, though, and my vote would be to do what make you happy! I may be tempted on this to crop out the land and just leave the mist and fog in the reflection. I do like the water drops! Sharon

I really like the ring of water drops flung from the Loon's head Wayne - pretty neat. Personallly, I'd leave the eye as is.

Looks great, Wayne. I'd leave the eye as is. I really like the layered look to this composition. :toast:

I'd leave the eye as is Wayne, that is how it naturally looked in that pose with that light.

Love the circle of waterdroplets!

I'd leave the land in the shot, otherwise the reflection doesn't make much sense without the tree line and sunlight that shows in the LRC

A really nice image Wayne, I like the head shake, the eye is a personal preference decision, in this image it doesn't bother me. I would think about cropping some from the bottom to just above the bright area in the lower rhc. :toast:
