Brown Bear in a Snow Shower

This image was taken on the Finnish/Russian border in early June this year. It had started to snow and I was really hoping a Bear would turn up and then this youngster came out of the forest and the snow got heavier. It was a magical moment that every now and then happens for a wildlife photographer

Hmm two Finland images next to each other, must be a great place to photograph bears!

Love this one Danny, the snow is really special (had that last year but sadly not this year, just a big sauna 4 days in a row  ) and I love the way the cub seems to be a little puzzeld by it.

Great image, and fun to see some different work from finland, I hope you keep m coming! :wavey: :toast:

Wow, this is an outstanding scene with great composition. The bear and snow stand out nicely against the muted forest surroundings.

Beautiful image, Danny. Perfect comp and the softening of the snow gives it a very painterly quality. :toast:

Hi Danny,

Very well done - this works for me on all levels. My only complaint is not being able to see a larger version of this!

Thanks for sharing this excellent shot...

Excellent! Great mood captured here. You choice to go vertical expresses the length of those pine trees and the obvious direction of the falling snow.
I must agree with Brad's nit; this beggs for a larger version! :toast:

Just beautiful - looks like a fine painting.
The subtle colors of the forest are perfect, and the snow and highlights on the bear - just a spectacular image, Danny.
