Taken in May, when there was still plenty of green to be seen.
Canon 50D
EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, at 180mm
ISO 200; 1/3 sec @ f/16 (a strange combination that I cant begin to justify)

Stephen: Marvelous scene superbly captured and rendered. Regarding the exposure combo, I often switch subjects without switching settings. Found one of my mountain shots from my recent trip shot at 1/25 and f22 with nothing in the comp closer than 100 yards My excuse is advancing age. Kudos on a fine image.>=))>

Bill,
I think I will borrow that excuse, if I may.

Please add me to the "why in the world did I do THAT?" roster.
This came out fine, even with the odd specs!
Lovely, serene colors of a wonderful place.

very nice scene, stephen. just out of curiosity, what would you have preferred the setting to have been? if you say f11 and 1/12sec (or something like that), i think that the touch of softness that f16 has lent the image may actually enhance it?

Stuart,
conventionally I would have widened the aperture and shortened the shutter speed (just in case the barn moved!) but your point is well taken about the touch of softness.

Hey, the settings worked with everything sharp and great color. Nice choice on the comp here for a long and wide view. Beautiful.

Gorgeous colors and tones! The dappled sidelight light is excellent as well. Great image.
Best,
