The Emerald pool

This was taken from Dante's view in Death Valley. I found the flats below had some very unusual patterns and wanted to try and create an image unlike what you usually seen from this vantage point. I really loved this emerald pool out in middle of the basin and thought it would make a great abstract. I would love to hear what others think of this shot, please view the LARGER version to appreciate.

I love it, Eric. Beautiful abstract composition and very unusual color combination, not to mention a very original idea.

Very nicely composed, and most certainly unique.
I would never have known this was from Death Valley. What a great find!

Excellent capture, Eric, love that sinuous stream flowing into the pool. The colors are gorgeous. You should call this one "Green Eggs And Ham", lol!

I can't add anything constructive. I'll just join the chorus: Beautiful shot! Good eye! As others have said, the colors and comp make for a great abstract. Well done.

Creative capture Eric. Nice lines with good ground color and texture. Too bad the pool wasnt a vibrant yellow than It would look like an egg sunny side up. Cool shot

Death Valley? This looks almost like something NASA snapped from another planet. Good eye for finding the unusual comp in this place.

There have been alot of images from Death Valley posted on this site over the years but this is one of the most unique and intriguing ones I've seen. Print this one big.

Eric,

Great job in seeing and capturing such an abstract from a grand landscape. All I can say is that this reminds me of something I might have seen in a High School Biology class - and leave it at that. :-) Great eye and wonderfully crafted.
