Japanese Hibiscus

I was intrigued by the unique metallic color to this flower. I couldn't shoot the whole flower because of distracting BG, so I tried to zoom in. I don't know if I've succeeded in making a decent image or not.

Michael: This is crazy good! What's really weird is that Chrissy and I were surfing some floral sites not 20 minutes ago and saw one of these that we're probably going to buy for our garden. I think your shot just lightened my wallet  . >=))>

Wow... did you ever. I really love this. The comp is perfect and the colors are wonderful... the orangish colors almost look like a kiss of late light on the flower... the raindrops omnly add to this... beautiful... :toast:

I think the image is more than 'decent,' Michael; it's dramatic, and I think the composition integrates it well. My only suggestion is a bit more sharpening to bring out the texture of the petals.

Decent enough for me! I would like to have seen a bit more of the red center moved to the right a bit, for composition only. :toast:

Essence of cool! Well done, orange is my favorite digital color and the rest of the photo is setting it up to enjoy...esp sweet w/the curls n soft shadows at edges. Droplets are an added bonus.

These petals look more like a composition of colorful scallop shells. Wonderful color and detail Michael and the droplets are an added bonus. The top of the middle petal looks as if it has some haloing, but I might be wrong. Cool shot.

Michael ... really? If you're not sure about this image being decent or not I would sure love to see those you really like!

This is awesome in my book! Great composition, some unique coloration and the upper right just seems to glow. We all love waterdrops as elements too. I can't find anything I don't love about this one! Great extraction. :toast:

Gosh, let me clarify it for you! I think this is tremendous! Your comp is brilliant the way it captures the essence of the flower and its unique combination of colors. Nice touch with the water drops, too, of course. I rate it a complete success. I love how it leaves the rest of the flower to the imagination. Stunning.
