Vanda roots, that is! This is one of the many tree frogs living in my slat house. A favorite spot for the day-long nap is among the entwined roots of a Vanda.

Great image, with wonderful detail. I like the way you were able to get the pads to show.

He really does look a bit sleepy.

Thanks Yooper Bob! I meant to mention that my favorite thing about these guys is their little suction-cup toes!

Maureen,

Nice find and you captured it with great detail and illumination. Is this a Gray Tree Frog? If so, I've only seen one of these in my life and it was living in a bird house that I had made.

A very nice image. I like the dof and sharp detail over the entire head, front feet and then some. Nice background too. Tree frogs seem to love to sleep all day - guess they're nocturnal.

I had to laugh when I saw this, Maureen....he looks like he could be leaning out a car window...just needs a driving cap!
The pads and the details are fantastic!

Thanks to all for the nice comments - and the Editor's Pick!

I believe I have now properly identified this critter as a Cuban Treefrog Osteopilus septentrionalis based on the the "Audubon Field Guide to Florida" - page 280. If there are any frog experts who disagree, please let me know!
