I have visited this website many times in past years but have never got round to joining up. I live way out in the middle of nowhere (South Luangwa, Zambia) so internet access is fairly limited. Well, I have joined at last so thought I would post an image and get started. It is of one of the females in the pride that lives in this area enjoying a nap - which is what lions seem to do most of the time...

Fantastic first post Patrick! The low point of view sends this one over the top for me.

I think everything about this photo works. I love the light and pose of the lioness. I like the background and low perspective.

this seems to be a typical 'after mating' pose (only the cygaret is missing  ) anyway it reports very well the behaviour of these big cats. no nits for me about the image, especilly i like the low perspective and the visible background .

As a veterinarian, I am constantly amazed at the similarity in mannerisms and behavior between the big cats and the domesticated variety. This pose is so much like the sleeping posture struck by our house cats. Congrats on your first post and welcome.
