Very Nice Pat..... nice detail in the center and I love the blurred Bg, especially the colors.

Really taken with this, Pat. I think you don't work at f5.6 all that often but you certainly should. It's a beautiful image with a striking fan-like BG to the flower and great colouring.

Very impressive blust of the BG color Pat. The blurring of the back side of the subject merge it with the shape of the similar color behind composing one unusal figure. I like it.
Cheers.

Thanks you all for the kind comments. I'm very pleased about the EP, especially given the quality, talent and expertise in the flora gallery. With regard to this image, I would like to mention and acknowledge Mike Moat's book Tiny Landscapes. I found it to be extremely interesting and full of good helpful advice. In particular, Mike repeatedly emphasizes the importance of bg in composition and that instruction wasn't lost on me when I composed this shot. So, I'd like to recommend his excellent and beautiful book as well as thank him for his contribution to this image.

Thanks all.
