OK -- A purple insect eater. (I made no color adjustments to this shot of a small damsel fly.) I think damsel flies are the most "bug-eyed" critters. This was a nice close shot to start with, but I cropped it to about 40% of the original frame for this WC.

Sigma 150mm. macro
f/13 @ 1/30 sec.

Hi Wayne, I just noticed this now in the Weekly Picks gallery. Congratulations on the pick! This is very cool. I like insect face shots (dig those ocelli on the forehead), and a purple one is just wonderful to see. Great job in every regard.

Congratulations on the EP Wayne. Beetles and bugs are not my favorite things, but you certainly have given this guy center stage. Love the detail in the image.
