Alpine Sunrise

Too late I realized that I had a better shot than the one I posted last week. I skipped that one because the glow on the peak isn't that intense. But therefore the cloud action is better here. So overall I like this one much better and I hope you do as well. Some of your comments on the other shot influenced the work on this one - thanks guys.

Appreciate all comments and critiques.

Andreas, this one is fantastic. The light is great and the sweeping clouds make it work really well.

I greatly prefer this one over the previous. Better light, better balance, no blacked out areas. This one is excellent. In both, the view is awesome.

This is really sweet. The light is excellent, as is the overall comp. This is the type of shot I can look at for a long time.

Man, the other one was really good, but this is another level. Great work! The glow is great, it does not appear weak or faded. I like that weird shape of the wall on the left - a huge cavity that creates nice and appealing curves to enjoy. The clouds also cooperate - very complementary. Outstanding shot Andreas!

Andreas,

This is fantastic! I think perhaps one of your best that I can remember. The light and clouds are awesome. A somewhat subtle element that I'm really enjoying is what looks like a swirl in the bowl of the main mountain on the left.

You've captured a special moment and this is a special image. congrats!

Wonderful light and textures. Saturation addict that I am, I'm wondering about playing up the alpenglow a bit more to give the mountains an even stronger presence next to the sky.

Waking up, having some tea and reading all your nice comments is a great start into a new day.
@Tony ... I also thought about going up with the glow saturation but after I was recently told that I use too much generally (some other place), I tried to keep it down.
Thanks to all of you for the confirmation, that this is one my best images so far. Can't wait to get to the mountains again.

Oh my! The light looks like it's coming from WITHIN the mountain. Lots going on, visually, in the image, so it's nice to follow the light on the mountains for the warm glow.
