We can do better than no cover photo, starting with me since I haven't posted anything here in a quite a while. This is a double post from the current ESS forum.
Pinnacles National Monument, California - May or June 2004
B&W conversion Guy Tal technique. My friend and I had spent the day hiking up to the top of the Pinnacles and this was taken after coming down on the way back to the car in late afternoon. A polarizer darkened the sky, further darkened by burning it in after the conversion.
This is just awesome. I love how those rock spires are reaching up toward the swirling clouds. Great job with the b&w conversion too.
I have been meaning to visit the Pinnacles National Monument for a while now (last trip there was back in Sep 2004). Your photo has renewed my interest. Thanks.

Thanks Anil. Awesome certainly wasn't on my mind when I posted this.
I looked like a fool trying to get up there since I'm terrified of heights. We got to the ladder when it climbs up the side of a wall, and I lost my nerve then almost turned back. I saw my friend do it, so I was like aw what the heck. It was worth it.
