You have some nice photos. I really like the Yosemite Falls picture with the yellow flowers in the foreground. the light is great on that one. I'd give anything to smell the ocean breeze right now.
btw, I'm not sure Big Sur and Yosemite count as Southern California, as they're closer to San Francisco than L.A.

Holy crap. These are some very nice shots of LLV.... Being one who just sent to LLV in July you had a bit better in teh flowers.. The flowers were just coming out when i was up there.. I also had to turn around early since there were rumbles of thunder and lightning nearby..
I really have to get up there and spend a entire day and hike above treeline...

Yeah, Little Lakes Valley and the Yosemite high country were just amazing. Very lush, and there is just something about the serenity of water cascading down mountainsides from snow fields into lakes and rumbling creeks that is...is...I don't know what...but I want to be back there.
I highly recommend getting above timberline in LLV, you'll see less people and it gives you a great perspective on the lakes.
We got really lucky with the weather because we only had one day in each place. There were thunderstorms but not until dark and the clouds leading up to them made for some dramatic scenes.

All very nice photos. Its embarrassing that it takes somebody from out of this area to show us up. :-)

Very nice Yosemite serie.
Looking at some angles it's hard to believe you only had one day in yosemite, because they seem to be taken from hikes like pywiak and tenaya lake... I like what you did with the slab at Olmstead. It's often crowded so it must take patience to have it cleared-out.

Thanks Dan, I was wondering why I had never seen a shot of the cracked rock at Olmstead Point which is so obviously striking, maybe crowds are the reason. We were up there on a Sunday evening and there were a few people at Olmstead, but not in the way. In general, the Tuolumne area was pretty empty and incredibly beautiful, wished I could have spent more time there.
Very nice images you have of the Sierra and Yosemite! I was in Tuolumne abou the thirdweek of June and there was still a lot of snow up high and most of the lower meadows were pretty well flooded.
I just spent a few days in Little Lakes Valley (8/3-/8/6) with Micahel Gordon, Dan Baumbach, and Steve Cole. The skeeters were evil! We did do a nice hike up the Mono Pass trail. Micheal and Steve wandered to the top of Mt Star. Dan and I turned around earlier. That is a fine, but steep, trail. Ruby lake is a great place right below the Ruby Wall-awesome.
Perhaps we'll cross paths in the Sierra sometime! Thanks for sharing your images with us!
