Richard, you stated that this was a bad time for nature photgraphy because of few wildflowers. Here is a shot from earlier this week. You just have to go a little higher.
Yeah, I saw some of these, some Bee Balm out at Looking Glass Falls earlier this week, and some Turks Cap Lillies up on the Parkway as well. You cant change my mind about July and August, though. Is it October yet?
Thanks Richard. I could not help but post this image when I read your comment about few or no wildflowers. You are very right this is a slow time of the year. It makes it all the more sweeter when you turn a corner and find some wildflowers ready to be digitized.
Thanks Alice. This is my backyard, Craggy Gardens on the Parkway.

Nothing to brag about but here is some proof from Frying Pan Mtn where Alice Scoggins,Nick Moore and I stopped on our outing that the summer bloom is heating up. Turk's cap shot is done with a Lensbaby2. Les-what a great yard!
They were all over the place, and so tall! I had no idea they grew so tall. Nice shot with the lensbaby Leann. Here's mine taken with the Sigma 105mm macro.
Its been a while since anyone has brought me flowers! I feel very special. ;) Thanks Les, Leanne and Alice!
I like the longer focal length and cleaner background in Alice's image, but the lensbaby effect is pretty cool too. Maybe a less-busy background, Leanne. Any outtakes?
Hi there Les, I think I have seen your name posted on the Asheville CNPA site, I'm a member but am yet to join an Asheville trip!. I really like the vibrant foreground flowers in your Craggy shot, summer flowers are definitely worth photographying IMO.

This seems like the year of the Turk's-cap Lily, I can't remember when I have seen more Turk's-cap blooming on the Parkway.

I posted my Turk's-cap shot from this week under the flora gallery. I am not sure my time limit on posting is up for this forum.
Alice, I like your background from the 105macro.
