Next weeek I'll be in Coronado for several days visiting my daughter and I hope to have some time for photography. Any suggestions for places to photograph on the island would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Interesting. I never knew that Coronado was an actual area. I had always thought that it was just that famous Hotel del Coronado in all the postcards. You might want to check out Torrey Pines State Reserve which is just above San Diego. There trees, ocean and birds. What else could you ask for. Now here's the part that sucks. You have to be out before sunset otherwise you'll get fined.
David: it's not the wild 'island' that you may think it is. It's neat, but not really photographic (from a nature photography standpoint (think URBAN). Like Richard, I'd either suggest the coast or head inland to Palomar Mountain, Rancho Cuyamaca SP, or elsewhere.
Richard, thanks for the suggestion for Torrey Pines it sounds like it's a good site.
Michael, with the research I had already done I suspected that there would not be much on the island itself, but it never hurts to ask the locals. Seems to be quite a few State Parks around San Diego, so I'll have to pick a couple to go check out.
David, the cliffs and beaches from Torrey Pines to La Jolla offer some really great photo opportuniities, although everything is looking pretty brown at the moment. I was just out there last week and haven't had a chance to post the photos yet but here are some from this area in may: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jensenl/visuals/album/2006/cali/
Note that the gliderport south of Torrey Pines offers ample parking and less restrictions, although the cliffs are maybe not quite as scenic.
Lars I be in San Diego tomorrow, looking forward to spending time in the area. Enjoyed the photos in your gallery, Torrey Pines is on my list of places I have to visit. Thanks!

I'd recommend checking out as many beaches as you can because they are all different...some have cliffs, some have lots of little coves, some have sea caves, and some have waves crashing against rocks.
