For some reason CS2 now takes close to 5 minutes to load. I do not think I did any thing to the settings, its only taken about 1 minute to open up before today. Any ideas or suggestion?

Gary,

It sounds like something is gobbling up your RAM or CPU; possibly a trojan of some kind.

Take a look at the performance of your machine. Press CTRL-ALT-Delete to bring up Task Manager. Select the 'Performance' tab. It will show you how much CPU is being used and the amount of RAM in use. If these numbres are are quite high, look to see what is running: Look on both the Applications and Services tabs. If you see something wierd there, end the the task or process. Next, run a complete virus scan and a spyware scan. If both are clean, I suggest using System Restore to restore the system to an earlier (good) state.

When I have used System Restore, I have gone back a few days to where I was certain all was in good working order. System Restore does work and has pulled my fat out of the fire a couple of times. Be sure to save any work and close any running programs before you begin.

If System Restore doesn't work, you might want to hop over to the Adobe forums and see if a similar thing has happened to others, and what the possble fixes may be. It may come down to reinstalling CS2, but I hope not.

Let us know what you find out.

Gary,

You're welcome. I am glad you found the problem, and have fixed it.

Hopefully, it won't happen again!
