I read a thread a few months ago about folk changing the hard drive on the Epson 2000 to that of 100G. With the prices of hard drives comming down, I am contemplating replacing mine with 160G HD.
Any cautions or caviates with this venture. Also any recommendations of HDs from those who have carried out this surgery.
Thanks
Regards
Hari

How new is your P2000? I would not risk the disk replacement/upgrade unless it is already out of warranty. Once you replace the disk, you will certainly void any/all manufacturer's warranty.

Did you try a Google search for P2000 disk replacement? This link on the DPReview forums tells how one individual did it. I remember that there is a very good set of instructions complete with video clips somewhere on the Internet.

Hi Walter, my P2000 is about 15mths old. I am thinking of replacing the HD with that of 160G. I was wondering if there wre other issues to concider, ie battry life, heat generation, etc.
Thanks
