Purple Coneflower
I made this image at a road side picnic area off of State Highway 15 in Northern Indiana. I was returning from a morning outing at a nature preserve on Saturday that was unsuccessful photographically when I spotted this opportunity. The light was bright and contrasty so I returned the next morning. I had a great time and made 3 or 4 images that I'm really happy with. I posted a few on my website if you're interested.

I'd be interested in feedback on this image. My main concerns are the overall condition of the flower and the merger on the right side of the unbloomed flower and the edge. Any thoughts?

I like this Mike. It seems well balanced, both in terms of the composition and the colors work well together for me. I feel like I'm looking through a window and wishing I could peek a little to the left or right to see what's there. I don't know that that tension is a bad thing. I think it kind of adds interest to the shot.

I visited your website and I'm really impressed with what you have there. Very nice stuff. I especially liked the 'Rain Drop on Tidy Tip.' You've got lots of nice shots.

Just curious, what nature preserve were you coming from? I live maybe 1/2 mile from Indiana state highway 15 in Bristol and I'm always looking for new places to visit. I just posted about one I found yesterday, the pigeon river fish and game area in Stuben county, what a neat place that is.

David,
I guess my memory isn't what it use to be. I just looked on a map and found that I was actually on Hwy 35 and not hwy 15. I was on my way back from the Ober Savanna Preserve. I found these flowers along hwy 35 south of Winamac.
