Well, Just getting around to editing and organizing my images from this past weekend... One of the few times since October I have shot any landscape shots...
This was on the drive up toward Mammoth Lakes area... It is a pullout along the 395 near Crowley Lake.
This was shot all in vertical and consists of 14 images. All image were shot in RAW and batch converted with the same setting in Nikon Capture. All image were converted to 8bit TIFF files.. When I converted them to 16bit TIFF. the stitching program could not handle the total size of 978MB. Ran out of memory even with 3GB on the system.
Did the stitching as 8bit files.
Final image size was around 18800x4288 pixels.. huge file....
Tech:
D2x
ISO 100
Manual Exposure
RAW
Cable Release
Mirror Lockup
Gitzo Leveling head G1348 legs.
OK. Gotcha. I took a look. Pretty impressive! I wish my screen was big enough to see the whole thing without having to scroll. Anyway, that sure is big country! It looks like Crowley has more water this year-that's good!
I like the Yosemite Valley panos, too. The one of the Cathedrals is really nice.

The livestock is a nice touch to an otherwise desolate scene. The east side always has amazing scenery.
Despite the fact an image created apparently for printing purposes has a large size, one ought to offer an aditional downsized image to fit typical computer monitor screen sizes, as evaluating the aesthetic of something that scrolls far off one's screens is awkward. However there is nothing wrong with also providing a large image like you have done as I do myself for example on my own site to indicate true image resolution as with the below link. ...David
