I just read Hank's comments on Lightroom in the post below, and also read the Lightroom Beta review on Lumious Landscape. Has anyone downloaded the Beta version of Lightroom, and if so, what were your thoughts and reactions? This is new to me, so if this discussion has already taken place on the forum just let me know.

I'm still waiting for the windows beta to try it out. Looks like it may be interesting.
i've got both lightroom and aperture, and at this point i'm leaning more towards lightroom... while both will be outstanding products within the next year, i feel that because its adobe, that lightroom will win out... adobe knows what its doing in the photo industry a bit more than apple does....
that said, both are great.
so far for me this whole concept is perfect... either one would work better for me than the current solutions. i love the ability to import, catalog, sort, and rate all the images in the library quickly and easily.... adobe is already building in strong adjustment tools so that my trips to photoshop will be less and less frequent. the printing setup is vastly superior to the current way of printing and i look for to only get better.
it needs to speed up a bit, but its still beta software and i'm on a 1.33GHz Powerbook G4 so that slows it a little... i'd like to see adobe build in some backup abilities like aperture has.
overall its very intuitive and definitely setup expressly for photographers which is awesome. i'd say by summer 07 both programs will be very very useful...
yes, CS2. i was doing manual cataloging in a folder structure once i realized that iphoto wasnt going to be powerful enough to handle all my RAW files.
honestly, i wasnt sure how i was really going to approach an all digital RAW workflow before aperture came out. and then once the lightroom beta came out i tested it as well, and i'm leaning towards it... but will give a look to aperture probably at least through 2.0...
