The fox and the view II...
Hi All, First post in this forum.

I'll try to post more shots here, since my pictures usually have a pretty regional flare, especially with my flowers and macro work.

Wanted to post another view of my fauna shot yesterday from the main forum. This was taken from just below the summit of Mount Washington in the evening, with a resident fox who I've 'worked with in the past'

The foxes in the whites are used to humans, and know where hikers tread when going for scraps. On the summit we say that a hot dog is a lot easier to catch than a mouse :)

That being said, this guy is still skittish to sudden movements, and I had to position myself carefully for the shot.

Taken with a sigma 18-200 at 160mm
1/25 second (thanks for holding still)

I commented on the version posted in fauna. Great series! I think I prefer the more profile version in fauna. The colors in the sky are nice and rich. I bet you see some amazing skies atop Mt. Washington when you're not socked in.

Hi Kurt,

This was from the atop Mt. Washington. Though we can see some amazing stuff up here, this scene was the first thing I've seen in over a week...just fog fog and more fog. It's views like this that keep my sanity fresh though. Thanks for your comments!

Jim,

So what is the name of your pet fox ????? :jump:

Haha...my girlfriend named him 'Swift' from the old Nickolodeon show 'David the Gnome" It was an aweful show, but the name stuck.

He's definately far from tame, just quite used to humans being around all the time...a nice thing for when trying to photograph a fox with a short lens!

Jim

Excellent capure, this fox must enjoy beautiful sunsets.

Thanks for sharing
