The following tours on my 2019 schedule have openings, each heading to a different collection of habitats and environments, and each featuring a variety of different wildlife:

Tanzania: Feb 9 - 20, 2019
We'll explore the savannas of Tanzania's northern safari circuit, visiting Arusha National Park (including a walking safari), Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park/Ndutu Wildlife Conservation Area. The majority of the trip will be spent in the Serengeti and Ndutu during the wildebeest calving, highlighted by lots of good cat activity. There's also an optional hot air balloon ride in the Serengeti for those who are interested.

Costa Rica: March 13 - 21, 2019
This tour leads us through different tropical forest habitats, from the cool, bird-rich central highlands (home of the Resplendent quetzal) to the diverse rainforests of the Caribbean slope, and over to the hot, dry jungles of the Pacific coast. This tour includes a river cruise highlighted by shorebird and crocodile activity, in addition to the forest walks we undertake in many of the other areas. It is not a tour that spends a lot of time parked at lodges and/or feeders, though we certainly have some opportunities to photograph wildlife on our lodge grounds when we're not out and about. The Costa Rica tour also has one spot left on the optional trip extension that will head to either Corcovado National Park (the best place for wildlife in the entire country) or Tortuguero National Park (coastal canals and mangrove forests).

Pumas of Patagonia: May 4 - 11, 2019
Explore the Patagonian steppe in search of wild pumas and other wildlife. We'll explore southern Chile, with six full days of photography in and around Torres del Paine National Park. This is the best place to see pumas in the wild, and our guiding and tracking team has had tremendous success in landing a number of great photo ops and encounters with these cats on my previous trips. In addition to pumas, this region boasts other fascinating species: guanacos, rheas, foxes, culpeos, skunks, armadillos, eagles, owls, falcons, flamingos and more. And of course, it just happens to be a landscape photographer's paradise. Though we won't be concentrating on landscape photography, we'll take advantage of the dramatic scenery whenever possible. Tour participants MUST be prepared to walk 2 - 5 miles on average per day with their photo gear... and in extreme situations we've gone as much as ten miles in a day, split between morning and afternoon sessions. It all depends on where our scouts find the cats.

Yellowstone Spring Wildlife: June 2 - 8, 2019
We'll have five full days exploring the rolling hills and alpine forests and valleys of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem during the best time of year for wildlife. The park presents a variety of wildlife photo opportunities, from grizzly and black bears (often with cubs) to three canid species (sometimes with pups), to mustelids and other smaller critters. Plus the prominent ungulate species like bison, moose, elk, bighorn sheep and pronghorn. And of course, it's a fantastic time for birds, between the spring migrants and those that are nesting in the park.
