I got two brief pics of this bird; this was the better of the two. This was taken this morning at the Savannah NWR. I feel it is a female grackle, but the markings around the throat and eye have thrown me off. This was a grackle sized bird. I am clueless, but the bill certainly suggests grackle. Any ideas on the marking? This doesn't look like an injury, and the bird seems healthy enough.

I'd say juvenile Boat-tailed Grackle, Phil.

Thanks, Jim. I hadn't thought of that. "All about birds" (Cornell.edu) agrees with you and shows an image similar to mine.
