Dark Phase Red-tailed Hawk

Not the greatest images, but my wife looked out the kitchen window a few days ago and started stuttering something about a "black" hawk on the owl box and "grab your camera!".  This dark Red-tailed Hawk was perched on the box-the darkest either of us has ever seen.  I have some lousy shots from when it flew that show the red tail and the underside of the secondaries is pale and barred.  It looks like it might be settling in our area as I saw it again when I was making lunch today-thus generating a pair od wet socks and one rather distant flight shot.
