Tree Swallow over water
I've had the idea lately to see if I could get a decent image of a Tree Swallow flying and diving over the water, which is really common in Florida.  So far this is the best I've gotten, and I just wanted to share it.  It makes me smile, even though it's a long way from being what I want.  I don't know what their flying speed is, but I'm sure you all know it is really, really fast.  I can only try this when I'm not already feeling nervous, and usually I can only do it for a couple of minutes at a time, because doing this is really stressful.  sad

Barbara, what shutter speed were you using?  Sharp in flight swallow images are a challenge, I think you did OK with this one.  As good as any I have taken.  Have to wait for warmer weather before they are back in cental Illinois.

John, shutter speed was 1/3200.

Looks pretty good, Barbara.  I've spent a lot of hours trying to get these in the back yard, with no notable success.  I've seen a couple of people on NPN who could do it, but thus far, I'm not one of them.
