I have in the last six weeks or so photographed both birds I have never seen before AND birds that are rare in the locations I saw them.  Sometimes they are too far away, but I photograph them anyway, because in my opinion how could I not?  They are not appropriate for posting on NPN for critiques, but I really want to share them with people I care about.

Does anyone else ever have the same situation?  Do you photograph things that are exciting but are not appropriate for posting on NPN for critiques?  Do you want to share them with other photographers?

I understand I could do this myself by having a blog.  But I'm wondering if it would be possible to have a non-critique gallery on NPN that is specifically for sharing things like what I've described.  It wouldn't be just for birds.  It would be for wildlife, or for something that could have been a landscape but for whatever reason (passing by something too quickly in a car?) you couldn't photograph it the way you would have liked to, but you do have a photograph of it.

In order to maintain NPN's reputation this gallery could be made not viewable by non-members.

This is just a question.  Would you either possibly post in or view a "sharing" gallery like that, if it could be done?  I haven't spoken with Jim or anyone else about this.  It's something I just thought about last night.

Check out the bird photo forum.

That is a good idea, David.

Barbara, that forum would be the best place to share those images. When you post, simply state that you wanted to share the images, but do not desire any critique.
