I Didn't know the Photographer's Ephemeris had a desktop version. Maybe other's didn't either.
Plot your spot for the upcoming Supermoon on January 31 !

Sandy, I've been using it on my desktop for years. In fact, I don't have the iPhone version as I always plot my outings before I go. I cannot recall going into the field without checking Weather Underground and the TPE before each outing. Love the TPE and it has worked every time for me as long as the cloud cover did not block the moon or sun cycles.......sad

BTW: I also use it to get the GPS coordinates for the planned subject location that I plug into my Garmin Etrex unit......laugh

I use both the desktop and iPhone versions of TPE. I wish the desktop version had an easy option to print the map and data. Has anyone figured out how to do that other than a screen capture?

One the phone, the SkyFire add-on to TPE is excellent, and has reliably predicted good sunset/sunrise conditions. Worth the paid subscription for me.

Excellent point, Greg. I too have only used a screen print myself in the past when passing along a location to others.....wink

Thanks Sandy.  I didn't realize it either.  Will download it tonight.

Hi Bill, the program runs as a web based item. However, once you start plotting, creating, & saving locations it is HIGHLY advisable to EXPORT your database and save it as a .kml file. If you're like me and return to locales off and on over time it is handy to have the database saved. I know as I've had to IMPORT my database several times as a result of browser updates, cache clearing, or worse yet PC drive recoveries.
