Although I'm still using CS5 for my post processing needs I've noticed this item in PS for years and always just worked through the issue in the past.
This time I thought I'd at least ask. I'm using a healing brush and the color of the brush type is hard to see on the large area I'm working on and was curious if anyone knows a way to color the tip to make it easier to see. I know I've looked a few times in the past in PS and did not see a way to convert the tip color. I'm using the brush tip with the + in the center, but would like to have the tip a different color when dragging across and open sky for fine tuning cleanup work.
I hope I've explained the item well enough.....thanks in advance if you know a way to convert the tip.

This is confusing to me. It's been a while since I've been on CS5 but now and as far as I can remember, I've never had any sort of color associated with the healing brush. The healing brush is based on where you click for the source so it's going to reflect that rather than any color. So I guess I just don't fully understand the issue. I assume you've already "googled" this with no results. If not, do so. PHLEARN website is very helpful. You might also try Tim Grey or KelbyOne help desk if you're subscribed to either. And if you're not subscribed to either, they are totally valuable resources. Good luck.
Thanks John for this information. I'll try to reexplain the issue. Many times the brush tip when moving across an area to work on gets lost to my eyes with it's color, lack of color, or just luminosity.
So, the idea I was wondering about is if the brush itself could be colored a bright or darker color different then the area you are working on. For instance, and in most cases, it's the sky you might use the healing brush on to cleanup debris from. If the brush could be easily seen then cleanup would go much faster when moving from spot to spot. As my eyes have aged I find I have to take the brush tip off the photo and drag it back at times to verify where it is.
Thank you again for the response and I hope I explained to point a bit better.....

Gotcha and sadly, no help from me. I know of no way to have the healing brush show any sort of tint, shading, or anything else to better identify the bounds of the actual brush. Even with an open sky as you describe, to me the brush cursor circle outline is still visible with the + in the center and both will even change from white to black depending on the tonality of the background area. Again, this is with CC2017 and don't remember if CS5 was the same. Only other thing I can think of is if you have the box checked for "show only crosshair while painting" (if that's even in CS5). With that checked, after you set the source and start healing, the brush circle goes away but the crosshair is still there. Maybe a workaround would be to make a really extreme adjustment of some sort (levels, hue-sat) such that the brush would show. then do the healing throw the adjustment layer away when done. That would just get tricky though as to where you put that layer so as to tell the healing brush to ignore. Probably more work that worth it. Getting old does stink - I can relate. But it still beats the alternative! :-) Sorry I had no answer for this one.

Again John, thank you for review and input. I will try this approach next time and see how things go.....
