I would like to buy a camera bag that would just hold my Canon camera, a 70-300, a wide angle zoom and a flash if needed. Hopefully one with easy access.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I like to hike the local state parks and just want something accessible and comfortable.
Thanks,
Brian
I am a huge fan of the f-stop backpacks. I own two of them and find them very comfortable and extremely easy to access gear. They are rear opening, which is really nice.
Personally I'm a fan of the Flipside series. They're not at all bulky. I use the Flipside 300 for my Nikon D7100 and accessories and, having just bought a Nikon D5500 with two extra lenses for a convenient, portable camera, I'm going to get the Flipside 200 for that. Made by Lowepro, you know you're getting good quality. Oh, and these models have a place for carrying your tripod if you need that.
I've been using a LowePro Fastpack 350 for several years. It is great for dayhikes and also fits in overhead storage on airplanes when traveling that way. One feature I really like about the Fastpack is that you don't have to take it off to access your gear. I think that is true with the Flipside as well. For the equipment you list, the Fastpack 250 would work. Both have enough room for the hiking "10 Essentials", a snack, and a packable rain jacket.
You may find that the f-stop Guru or Loka might fit your needs. I have the larger Tilopa and like the backpanel opening and the pack's carrying comfort.
I also have a LowePro Flipside 500 and find that the shoulder straps and waist bands are always in the way of the panel zippers. The torso length is also too short and I am only a 19.5" torso
