The annual Woodburn Tulip Festival is 3/25-5/1 this year. Has anyone been there yet and can give a report on the bloom?
Similarly, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is April 1-30.
Some sources say the bloom is a little delayed this year. I'm thinking that may be true as the very first blooms are just starting to appear in my neighborhood here in the southern Willamette Valley.
Just drove to Long Beach which takes us by De Goeds in Mossyrock where they raise a lot of tulips. Buds but no flowers. We return to Yakima the 12th and will be able to check them out then. Will post then.
Greg, the fields at Wooden Shoe are not at peak yet, so I assume the other farms are not either. From my past experience it will be another 10-14 days to peak.
Wooden shoe gives a regular update (often daily) as to the conditions on their website: http://www.woodenshoe.com/events/tulip-fest/field-report/ Go on a NON-weekend, if at all possible!
Also, the large iris garden behind the house is gorgeous later on, then the irises are in bloom. Every possible type and colour combination is there, along with allium, and 1,000 other things. Don't miss that either!

Thanks, Jim and Sandy. I saw a couple of photos on Instagram from friends that visited Wooden Shoe over the weekend and it looks like the bloom is starting, but not the extensive masses of color we like to see.
