Last week I went to the Winter Wings Festival in Klamath Falls for the first time. The event was well organized and catered to both birders and bird photographers. I saw 57 species of birds, including a lifer: Oak Titmouse. Others saw many more species, I'm sure. The weather can be a bit chancy this time of year, but otherwise it was well worth my time. Birders are a very friendly group and I met a number of nice people. If you are interested for next year, be sure to register early as many of the field trips fill up quickly.
Another meeting well worth attending is Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest (http://www.nppnw.org). It will be held on April 1 in Olympia.

Hi Allen! Thanks for posting.
I'm not an avian photographer and haven't been to the Winter Wings Festival, but I'm sure it will be of interest to several folks here. I understand Klamath Falls and Klamath Lake are excellent spots for avian photographers most of the year.
I have been to the Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest meeting in 2015. It was definitely worth the time. The photo shows, the speaker and the vendor showcases were all very well done. If I can I'll be at the April meeting too. Hopefully I'll see you there.

I was at the NPPNW meeting on 4/1/2017 at the Evergreen State College in Olympia and did not see anyone else from NPN.

Oh no! I meant to go but forgot all about. Sorry David! How was the show this year?
