My kids are getting older and I am finding more time for photography - how many of you still frequent this place?
Can you reply to this post please...
So at the moment I know of John, Nick and myself :)

Hello Tom
I still have a look in on occasions and remember the days when it was IMO the best and most active forum in the UK and it would be nice to see it active again.

Still pop in from time to time, but can't see this place ever returning to the hive of activity it was before social media took a hold of us.

I think John has hit the proverbial nail !
So many folks are now doing their own thing and a lot of forums seem to be slowing up. I personally reckon the bird photography "boom" has peaked. I know a dozen that have just lost interest. There are so many on facebook now its amazing.
Shame about this one though-maybe it will pick up.

Still check in to make sure the tumbleweeds are watered and to stop the spiders from leaving too many cobwebs
Like John McT said, I don't think the place will ever get as busy again - young un's these days have too much instant gratification and back slapping as the cyber world has become a lot busier since we started the forum 10-12 yrs back. Farcebark, 500pixies, twit(ter) etc have diluted & stolen everyone's time these days.
Carry on and have a nice & low key, quiet discussion/crit forum. Get yer pipes & carpet slippers out... but no shouting , don't want waking up too often
