If you have two pictures, and image quality is otherwise equal, and one is a "classic" pose and the other has something "cute" about it - eating, drinking, stretching the leg, stretching the wings, mouth open, etc. - which one do you post here, and why?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Both - just because

I like Mike Ramy's simple answer! I think they all can be worth posting, and I don't believe that there is a style that is better than another style.
There are lots of reasons to post an image here, and I suspect there are common reasons and unique reasons for each of us. Partly it depends on what your primary goal is at NPN - getting feedback from others on what works or what needs more work, demonstrating your skills, competing for EP's, or simply sharing something that you like.
For me, I'm rarely looking for help but I am looking for feedback. I like to know if others respond to the subject and image as I do. I don't post images with technical flaws (although sometimes I don't catch all of them before posting!). My basic filters on what I post are: I have to like the image; it has to be as technically perfect as I can get it; it has to be natural. I might post a simple House Sparrow from the local park because I like the shades of brown, a Lesser Sand-Plover that has strayed from Mongolia to the Navajo Reservation east of Flagstaff because it is extremely rare, or a Loggerhead Shrike coughing up a pellet because I rarely see that happen.
Exactly what has been said!
Both have their appeal to different people.
A "classic" shot is what many like, if they are adding to their Gallery, or for documentation.
The "doing something" poses, to me, are usually more interesting - shows the habitat and the NATURE of the bird.
Both have merits and a good shot is always a good shot - classic or "cute".

I agree with all the previous comments, Barbara. I'll just add that sometimes I'll post an image just because I'm unsure whether the crop or some other feature works and I want feedback on it.
