Not sure if this is a grey crown rosy finch or not.  Any help will be appreciated.  Taken last month in Colorado above timberline.

I think it is a Rosy-Finch, but I cn't decide which of the three. Based on the head, I'd say Brown-capped, if you were in southern Colorado. Probably too much pink in the body for a Black Rosy-Finch. But the head sure doesn't look like any Gray-crowned I've ever seen. Any other shots? And can you be more specific about where in Colorado?

Based on your email to me, and since the photo was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park, a Gray-crowned with mud or something on its head. You were probably too far north for a likely Brown-capped.
