I thought I would share a few of my favorite images from my recent Wild Mustangs of the Adobe Valley workshop. The Adobe Valley is just north of Bishop, CA and quite an amazing place for wild horses and wild horse photography. The snow clad slopes of two major mountain ranges, the Sierra Nevada and White mountains, make for beautiful backdrops for these magnificent beasts that roam free here.
Stallions, especially the 'bachelors', do battle constantly with their hooves and teeth partly to determine their place in the herd hierarchy and partly just of instinct. It looks brutal and makes for great photos but rarely results in serious injuries. I call this shot "The Boxers". I'll post a few more images here but if you would like to see more, check out my Equine and Adobe Valley galleries on my site.
