I was asked by a friend at our local camera club about a telephoto lens for his Sony A6000 camera. I told him I had a Sigma 150 - 500 mm canon mount I would sell him but it is an A mount and he needs an E mount. Can any of our Sony members help me with suggestions for a telephoto lens that will give him more range than he has now with his 200 mm lens for birds and wildlife usage. Would want it to have good auto focus capabilities, image stabilization and not break the bank.

Mike, while there is a deficit of Sony lenses greater than 200 mm for the e-mount Sony cameras, there are a few options currently available and one soon to be available option.
Currently available (with full function):
Sony LA-EA3 Adapter (Sony A to Sony E)
Sony LA-EA4 Adapter (Sony A translucent mirror to Sony E)
Sigma MC-11 Adapter (Canon EF to Sony E)
Sigma MC-11 Adapter (Sigma SA to Sony E)
Soon to be available:
Sony FE 70-200 F2.8 GM OSS plus SEL14TC (1.4x TC) or SEL14TC (2.0x TC)
This should be a very impressive lens although it will likely be in the $2500 - $3000 range plus the teleconverters are approx. $400 each. This lens plus the 2X tc on the a6000 will be equivalent to 600mm on a full frame. Unfortunately, the teleconverters will only work with this specific lens.
