Has anybody sent their D750 in for the latest Nikon service advisory? If so have you gotten it back yet? How long did it take? Thanks in advance!

Shipping to Nikon in Los Angeles and return to me in Oregon was less than 10 days.

The notice shipped back with work done includes:

- RPL Shutter Mechanism  (I interpret this to mean my camera has brand new shutter assembly)

- check AF operation

- check bayonet mount

- check AE operation

- check Image Test

- Clean sensor

- Firmware upgrade

- General check & clean

So, yes, a bother to have to send it in and thinking it shouldn't have been necessary, but now my well-used D750 is back at (mechanically) mint-condition factory specs.

If your D750 is among those subject to the service advisory, I highly recommend you send it in even if (like me) you haven't seen any evidence of the problem that was the reason for the service.

Thanks for the info Greg. One more question, do they do a factory reset on the camera so that I'll have to reconfigure my custom button functions? They sent the service notice out about a week before I was going to Death Valley so I wasn't even going to think about checking my serial number then. I checked it a couple of days ago and my serial number is affected. Going tomorrow to shoot Sandhill cranes on the Platte after which I can be without it for a few weeks. Thanks again!

Hi, John - in my experience, every time I have had my Nikons serviced, they reset everything to default. Be sure to right down your custom settings.

I kind of thought so, thanks Sandy.
