I am traveling to Las Vegas for a conference next week and will have one day (this Sunday) to see the sights. I will be visiting Valley of Fire for sure. Are there any other must see locations around Las Vegas? Thanks in advance for any information on photo spots.
Eva, if you're not able to travel to lower Utah, then another location around Vegas is The Red Rock BLM area.
btw: I just reread this and realize you mention only one day Sunday. I would stick with one location. The distances out here get a bit much between locales. Even the few sites around Vegas can be a real stretch.
Good grief! If Valley of Fire doesn't fill an entire day for you I don't know what. I spent two weeks camping there and barely scraped the surface. There is much to see. Do a bit of a search on the internet and make a list od things you want to photograph. You won't get through them in one day. I suggest you get up real early in the morning and get there before sunrise for the best photos, and stay until after sunset.

Valley of Fire is now open only sunrise to sunset. Apparently, there has been vandalism (graffiti), so only the campgrounds have legal activity earlier & later than that. Rangers drive around & announce the park is closing.
