I took a look at Affinity Photo v 1.4.1 in January.
The biggest problem I found was that it was not compatible with Nik or Noise Ninja, two suites of plug-ins I find indispensable. Affinity Photo's native photo adjustment tools are pretty limited in comparison to a more mature product's. It was also pretty sluggish on larger images on my iMac.
I spent some time with Affinity Tech Support on the plug-in issue. Affinity uses Apple Store and Google, which owns Nik, doesn't and won't. So there's no prospect of Nik on Affinity Photo any time soon.
Here's an image I pressed in Affinity Photo. It's okay, but there's a kind of shiny effect on that I attribute to Affinity's relatively primitive Unsharp Mask tool.

It'd be good to have some feedback/reviews!
